| DESCRIPTION | The 10,000 Mile Ride for the Wounded is being held as a salute to America's wounded service men and women and is sure to be the motorcycle ride of a lifetime. The ride will travel about 10,000 miles and cover 30 states. It is expected to take between 20 and 30 days to complete the ride. It will start on June 2, 2007, at the headquarters for The Wounded Warrior Project, located at 7020 AC Skinner Parkway in Jacksonville, FL, at 9am. Riders will travel about 400 miles per day, mostly on the interstate highway system but taking scenic routes when road conditions permit. There will be at least three stops per day for refueling and rest in addition to the overnight stops. During the overnight stops riders can camp out or stay in motels. It is not recommended for novice riders to participate in this 10,000 mile ride. Riders can join in at any of the stops along the way. | |
