For Immediate Release – State BBQ Championship set to fire up San
Juan Bautista, CA on July 12, 2008.
San Juan Bautista will become the hottest official destination for
participants of the 61st annual Hollister Motorcycle Rally with the
addition of an antique motorcycle show and every biker’s favorite food -
barbecue, with the Shake, Rattle & Smoke! BBQ competition produced by
Fire It Up Events.
Cooks from all over the West Coast will compete for a California State
Championship title Saturday July 12, 2008. This is a cooking contest like
no other. While many people have seen similar events on national TV, few
have the opportunity to see them up close and in person as they will at
the Shake, Rattle and Smoke BBQ Championships! The teams typically have
playful names, but are serious about tasty and tender slow smoked
barbeque, and the sport of competition cooking.
Along side Mission San Juan Bautista and set amongst the background of the
old west town, Horsepower Promotions presents another new and exciting
feature to their already strong Hollister based event – the Hollister
Motorcycle Rally Official Antique Motorcycle Show, where many of the best
preserved and historically significant motorcycles will be on display.
This outdoor festival is free to the public. Dedicated motorcycle parking
areas will be provided.
The City of San Juan Bautista was named one of the 12 Distinctive
Destinations for this year by the National Trust for Historic Preservation
as well as a Preserve America community.
