On September 6, 2008, the LARC (Levy County Association for Retarded
Citizens) will host its third annual Ride to Provide. This free
event encourages motorcyclists to participate in an 88-mile ride through
scenic Levy County, touring county back roads along rolling fields and
scenic woods that traverse through much of Levy County, including
Chiefland, Williston and Otter Creek. Along the tour, riders may spot rare
wildlife such as white-tailed deer or bald eagles. Beginning at 7:30
a.m. at Williston High School, riders can register and enjoy free coffee
and doughnuts. Midway through the ride, there will be an opportunity for
participants to take a break and meet LARC staff and clients who are
benefiting from the event.
