Nov 1 Benefit Poker Run and a four band concert for Hannah Beth Roddy and
Timmy "Worm" Mooring. Kinston, NC Hannah was born July 22, 2008.
Hannah was born with multiple birth defects and is fighting for her life
at UNC's Children's Hospital. She is the daughter of Chris and Tracey
Roddy. Chris serves as a volunteer firefighter for North Lenoir VFD. Timmy
Mooring was severely burned at his home on August 9, 2008. Approximately
50% of Timmy's body was burned. He is also at UNC Hospital. Timmy is a
professional firefighter with the City of Kinston and also serves as a
volunteer firefighter with Sandy Bottom VFD. This has put a tremendous
burden financially on both families. Both of these families serve the
people of Lenoir County.
Registration for the Poker Run will start at 9am at Grainger Stadium on Vernon Ave. in Kinston NC. All bikes out at 11am. The route will be around Lenoir County and end back up at Grainger Stadium. $10.00 per bike and $5.00 for a rider. Price includes a meal ticket. Additional poker hands will be $5.00. There will also be a 50/50 drawing. There will also be a 4 band concert after the poker run at Grainger Staidum starting at 3pm. The bands include, The Southern Touch Band, Assembly Required, Altered Ego and the Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Band "Second Helping." Concert tickets are $10.00 in advance and $15.00 at the gate the day of. Concessions will also be sold during the concert. ALL PROCEEDS go to Timmy and Hannah.
