2011 Back Roads California

Ride the coastal mountains of San Francisco in this 3 day tour. Experience the goaty back roads, redwoods and the Pacific Ocean!

This tour shows you what California has to offer. The Pacific Coast Range stretches from San Francisco up northward into the mountains of California. Beginning just north of the Golden Gate Bridge in the town of Sausalito at the Sausalito Bakery and Cafe at 7am in the morning. Be sure to fill both tanks, gas and stomach, for this amazing ride.

You will then ride into the Marin Headlands to the Point Bonita Lighthouse for beautiful scenic roads and picturesque region, traveling through to see view of  Angel Island, Alcatraz and Downtown San Francisco. Continuing north through Golden Gate National Recreation Area, to skyline drive to see the vast Pacific Ocean, all the way up to King Ridge Road. This is truly breath taking back roads through green mountains and lush forests of the Pacific Coastal Terrain.

Day two will start with both tanks full again and off the the famous Hwy 1 that has stunned motorcyclist as you drive through tow mountain ranges arriving into a majestic Redwood forest. Continuing on more goat trails and back roads like Hwy 36, Mattole Rd (also known as the Lost Coast) up to historic Ferndale. This will truly be the ride of your life.

Day three is always full of surprises. This is the day when you get your maps out and plan which way you want to go back. Some take Hwy back on the "22 mile section" on the scenic ocean view back to Fort Bragg. The the road be your guide and take in as much of the journey as you can.

This is sure a ride that is not to be missed. See mother nature in it's purest form and the majesty of the Pacific Coastal!
