PAST EVENT - HIV and AIDS Charity Motorcycle Ride

On Sunday, August 23, 2009, internationally and nationally syndicated radio personality, host of the #1 Urban Adult Contemporary radio program (WPGC 95.5FM/CBS Radio), Black Entertainment Television (BET) personality, and HIV/AIDS activist, Big Tigger, will host the most highly anticipated and successful charity motorcycle ride, Big Tigger's 3rd Annual HIV/AIDS RIDE FOR LIFE.  RIDE FOR LIFE’s purpose is to address current issues in the fight against HIV/AIDS and bring awareness to the widespread misperception that HIV and AIDS are no longer a problem and will serve as a reminder that the rate of HIV infection is increasing; particularly in communities of color and in individuals between the ages of 18 to 45. 

The charity ride will kick-off at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC and end at Six Flags America Theme & Water Park, in Largo, Md.  Six Flags America Theme & Water Park features more than 100 thrilling rides, shows and attractions, the newly expanded Hurricane Water Park and the park’s newest attraction, Tony Hawk’s Halfpipe! Big Tigger will take over Gotham City, a great locale to experience an eclectic selection of rides based on the Batman and Superman universes.

In its third year, over 6,000 motorcycle riders and enthusiasts from around the country have joined Big Tigger for this annual charity ride.  This monumental event continues to receive support from over 180 motorcycle clubs, hundreds of independent riders, motorcycle enthusiast, the Centers for Disease Control and District of Columbia and Maryland local government officials and agencies.  To date, RIDE FOR LIFE hails as the largest African-American motorcycle benefit for HIV/AIDS awareness.
