16th Annual Kansas City Bikers for Babies RIDE to Benefit March of Dimes - Join thousands of motorcycle riders in the largest, one-day benefit ride to support the March of Dimes mission to give all babies a healthy start in life. Riders will convene at Kansas Speedway on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 for the 16th Annual Kansas City Bikers for Babies RIDE presented by Farmers Insurance.

Last year, over 6500 riders and sponsors contributed $697,000 to benefit the March of Dimes and bring its 15-year total to $4.4 million. Event organizers are expecting to reach the $5 million mark in 2010 as Kansas City Bikers for Babies succeeds as the most successful March of Dimes motorcycle event in the country for the eighth year in a row. Johnny Dare, of 98.9 The Rock, will serve as Honorary Chairman for the 15th year.

For a $35 minimum donation, riders and passengers will enjoy a 100-mile all-Kansas route, complimentary lunch, a 2010 commemorative pin and patch and a ticket for special prize drawings. Event day registration is $40 per person.

Grand Donors who raise $1,000 will take laps around the Kansas Speedway track. Be a “$100 Hero for Babies” and earn the opportunity to win a 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, donated by Worth Harley-Davidson North, Kansas City, Mo. (Each $100 donated equates to one opportunity ticket.)

Participants can also enjoy a Chris Cakes all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast ($5); a People’s Choice Bike Show presented by Gail’s Harley-Davidson; Vendors' Expo, music performed by local bands and vintage motorcycle display.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. and festivities at Kansas Speedway will conclude by 3 p.m. Riders are invited to attend the opening ceremonies inside the track at 9:15 a.m. and depart for the route by 10 a.m.

This American Motorcycle Association-sanctioned ride is presented by Farmers Insurance. Local sponsors include 98.9 The Rock, Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Price Chopper and supported by all local Harley-Davidson dealers and numerous Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki dealerships. All brands of motorcycles are welcome.

The March of Dimes mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies.
