PAST EVENT - Steel Horses for Rescue Horses Poker Run

Motorcycle Poker Run to benefit the rescue horses of Hanke Rescue Ministries. Run will start at the 301 Bar and Grill in Thonotosassa and end at the Hawg Pound in Zephyrhills. We will have live entertainment at the end point, as well as a 50/50, prizes, pitch in dinner, (we supply the pork) and games.

At Hanke Rescue Ministries, located near Tampa Florida, we rescue horses from abuse, neglect and slaughter for human consumption. We offer a second chance for life and love to equines (and often other animals) that are no longer needed, wanted or useful to their owners. We care for them until they are healed and then work to place them in homes where they are wanted, needed and loved.

We rehabilitate and train horses for use as companion animals, riding horses and therapy horses available to the general public. We also offer programs to educate new horse owners with respect to proper care, management and training of their adopted horses. We are very involved in education, prevention and community service. Education clinics and demonstrations are open by appointment on issues such as veterinary care, shoeing, safety, training, riding, pasture management, and neglect and cruelty to animal issues.
