When and where is the Fifth Annual Ribbon Walk and Ride for Cancer?
On Saturday, November 13, Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation’s Friends of the Cancer Center will hold the fifth annual Ribbon Walk and Ride for Cancer. New this year is the motorcycle ride. Registration begins at 8:45 AM motorcycle riders and 9:00 for walkers. The ride kicks off at 9:45 and the walk kicks off at 10:00 at Festival Park in downtown Fayetteville. Where does the money go?
As a walker, rider or sponsor, you’ll be helping cancer patients right here at home. Proceeds from this event will directly benefit patients in need at Cape Fear Valley Cancer Center. Through fundraisers, such as the Ribbon Walk and Ride, Friends of the Cancer Center provides prescription medicine, emergency funds for utilities, dietary supplements, transportation assistance, wigs, hats and scarves to Cancer Center patients. Friends of the Cancer Center is supported 100 percent by your donations and gifts. Make your participation in the Ribbon Walk and Ride your pledge to help those who are fighting cancer.

How long is the route?
The route for the walk is five kilometers or 3.5 miles and includes several hills. We will be walking through downtown Fayetteville’s business district and through residential areas in Haymount. The motorcycle ride will take different route beginning at Festival Park and riding down Highway 87 to Tar Heel. The motorcycle ride is approximately 50 miles round trip. Both the walk and ride will begin and end at Festival Park.
