PAST EVENT - Ride for the Black Knights

On 16 October 2010, the Rome Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol will hold its first
annual "Ride for the Black Knights" fundraiser. Proceeds from the event will help the squadron
fulfill its three missions: Emergency Services/Search and Rescue, Aerospace Education and
Cadet Programs.

Registration for the 60 mile guided motorcycle ride will begin at 9:30am at:

Rome, GA 30165

Riders will depart at 10:30am for a scenic ride through the area, and will return to the church
at approximately 12:00pm for a hamburger/hot dog lunch prepared and served by Rome Civil
Air Patrol members.

Cost: $20 per rider, $5 per passenger

The Rome Composite Squadron has served the Rome and Floyd County community for more than
40 years through its participation in search and rescue missions, disaster relief efforts and joint
exercises with local emergency management agencies.

The Civil Air Patrol operates a highly regarded teenage cadet program for girls and boys ages
12 to 18 that includes considerable flight time and educational opportunities. Cadets receive
training in leadership, aerospace education, character development, emergency services, physical
fitness, and much more.

The Rome Composite Squadron is one of 39 squadrons in Georgia. The Civil Air Patrol is a civilian
all volunteer auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. There is no military obligation associated with membership,
and it is not necessary to have a military or aviation background. Membership is open to adults
and teenagers of all ages and interests.
