PAST EVENT - Ride-In Benefit For Injured Motor Unit Deputies

To the riders that participated in the "Laptops for the Wounded" Poker Run,

Thank you for supporting the effort to raise funds to purchase laptops equipped with web-cams for wounded soldiers at Military Hospitals around the country. Your efforts helped to raise $8000.00 for the "Laptops for the Wounded" organization. Thank you each and everyone... your generosity is greatly appreciated!!

There was a very unfortunate accident that involved two motor units from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Department (LCSD). Deputies Brian Kleptach and Tom Alpy were seriously injured in an accident that occured after their escort was completed, due to the result of circumstances unrelated to the poker run.

In order to show appreciation, Lizzie and I would like to invite all riders that participated in the poker run to attend a “Ride-In Benefit” for these injured officers, to help with their doctor visits and/or co-payments, etc. The “Ride-In" will take approximately one hour, consisting of collecting donations that will go "directly" to Deputies Brian Kleptach and Tom Alpy (not a department group fund). The "Ride-In" will take place at Spanky's Shenanigans 538 E. Market

Street, Leesburg, VA 20175 on September 25, 2010 @ 12:00 pm in an effort to show that their services and contributions to the poker run are "very much appreciated". Their support certainly provided safety for all riders in the poker run, to proceed through intersections and traffic lights without interruption.

We are hopeful to receive assistance from the LCSD next year and years to come to benefit this great cause. I hope all of you can and will attend this "Ride-In Benefit" to show your support and appreciation to deputies Kleptach and Alpy who were involved in what "NO" motorcycle rider ever wishes to experience.

If you know someone that participated in the poker run who may not have been notified “PLEASE” pass this important message on to them. Perhaps you know someone that would like to participate and make a donation feel free to invite them as well.
