Reno Street Vibrations Event Page

The Street Vibrations in Reno on Sept. 24 thru 28 was a major surprise for the Monster Crew as this event was well planned and had a great attendance. Located on the Streets of Reno, many of the major parts suppliers and semi rigs and top names were on hand to give the rider faithful a full range of events, bands, riding locals, and ancillary events.

Names like J and P Cycles, Big Dog, Renegade Wheels, and Arlen Ness gave riders many choices and opportunities to get a glimpse at the latest in parts, apparel, and motorcycle celebrities.

If you wanted to take a great mountain ride, only 50 miles away was beautiful Lake Tahoe with winding mountain roads. Fine restaurants, boat rides, and scenic views of Lake Tahoe gave riders a great day trip to escape the crowds and heat and enjoy some of the great roads of the western US.

The local Harley Davidson shop also kept riders busy with all the latest from the Motor company and lots of activities. Located next to the Metric stores, the H D shop and Import guys had a huge crowd most of the week-end.

If you wanted to take a short putt out to Virginia City, another complete motorcycle party with old west charm and vendors galore was going on throughout the week-end.

Entertainment was on-going as bands entertained on the street stage throughout the week-end.

This event was well attended and the traffic seemed “steady” all days and “crowded” on both Friday and Saturday. Even though this event is not attended by all of the National Big Rig boys it hints at continuing to grow into a major over the next few years. Multiple scenic rides, and alternative venues, like Carson City, Virginia City, and Tahoe give this event an appeal much like national events.

The Silver Legacy Hotel and Casino where the Monster stayed was completely involved in the show with motorcycle specific promotions making any biker feel right at home. The room was clean and bright and I’d rank it good or a b+.

We would still call this a “big regional event” but the crowd was diverse, coming in from all over the north west. It has promise to become a major.

We also give this show high praise for location and involvement from the community. Signs throughout the area were reveling for Street Vibrations as TV, Newspapers, and local radio seemed to be promoting the event with enthusiasm. Lot’s of community support was evident.

The Monster awards this event a 3 and ½ half Monsters

Goooood…almost great.
Keep Up the good work. We’ll be back.
