UFC Scores Smash Knock Out at UFC 100 Event Page

The world of Mixed Martial Arts, better known as the (MMA), and the "big daddy" of cage fighting promoters, The UFC, lead by Dana White, exploded with it's major coming out party this weekend and scored a "Smash Knock Out". As the weekend opened on Friday with a huge UFC Fan Expo at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, there was never a doubt that the UFC had scored big.

Attending fans were not disappointed as the convention center was full of UFC fighter meet & greets, and posing with the fans for those cherished pics with the champions. Fans were delighted to find an expo center full of products, equipment and swag for everyone from the casual MMA "couch potatoe" to the upcoming fighter-in-training.

The easy availability of the fighters to the fans was really special as fans waited patiently in long lines to get that special moment with their favorite fighter.

The Fan Expo was such a huge hit that it could have carried the MMA weekend alone without a fight. With estimates of 40 to 50 thousand attendees the Expo scored huge.

Of course the really big show was the UFC 100 fight program with probably the largest block buster card of top fighters of all times. Early estimates of over 1.4 million folks purchased the fight on Pay-Per-View. Clearly a minimum of 8 to 10 million folks saw the UFC at its biggest and brightest.

Lesnar vs Frank Mir

The biggest fight of the night and most anticipated between heavyweights Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir. Lesnar made good on his promise, and dominated from the beginning taking Mir to the canvas early and giving Mir a bloody face early on with his punishing head shots. Round two was pretty much the same as Lesnar again got on top and hammered Mir ‘til the referee jumped in to stop the fight.
