Ryan Kerr and Ryan Kerr Racing Team Reflect on 2011 AMA Pro SuperSport Season

Johnstown, Ohio (September 14, 2011) Ryan Kerr and the Ryan Kerr Racing Team began their second season with high hopes of being a top contender in the AMA Pro SuperSport East series. “I was truly excited about competing in my second year as an AMA Pro SuperSport Rider. I spent the off season focusing on lessons learned throughout my first year and gaining track time at various courses throughout the country. Although at season’s end I did not meet my goal of being an overall top 5 finisher, I feel that it has been a successful year of additional lessons learned. We finished the season in 9

th

place which is not where we wanted to be but it is still an acceptable outcome and we anxiously await next season. “

Ryan Kerr came into the final race at New Jersey knowing that he had to make the most of the event and finish the season strong. “My qualifying times placed me 14

th

on the grid which was further back than I had hoped but I knew with a strong start I could be up and running at the front of the pack.   In addition, mechanical issues arose prior to the start of Saturday’s race and I was forced to compete with my back up bike which was a huge disappointment.”  On Saturday Kerr came off of the grid and quickly moved from 14

th

to 10

th

and was on his way for a strong finish. “I was unable to maintain position and finished Saturday’s event in 12

th

place.”

Kerr was hopeful for a better outcome on Sunday. Unfortunately Sunday resulted in a concerning turn of events for the young rider who went down in the final laps of the race. Kerr explains, “I certainly did not want to finish the season this way but I am again feeling strong and ready to get back on the track. I plan on taking the off season to focus on fitness training and gaining more track experience.   Finally, I want to thank my family and many fans for their outpouring of concern following my incident and I am truly thankful that I have made a full recovery.”
