Yorba Linda, CA –-Cobra Engineering announced the release of its Swept Speedster exhaust system for the new Honda Fury, the bold chopper based loosely on Honda’s very own VTX1300. Expected to be in dealerships in July, the $689.95 Swept Speedsters incorporate the Power-Port crossover chamber, which increases horsepower while lowering the sound levels over a more traditional shotgun system.

“Honda’s new Fury is an exciting and amazing motorcycle, one that demands a special exhaust,” said Tim McCool, Cobra Engineering President. “The bike looks like a one-of-a-kind custom chopper right from the factory, and these Swept Speedsters complete that custom look. The riders will notice improved performance with significant torque and horsepower gains across the power range, especially when the exhaust is matched with the Fi2000 Fuel management system.”

The Swept Speedsters’ radius curve begins aft of the rear cylinder and flows backward, ending at the far edge of the rear wheel. The pipes provide the correct proportional look to the bike, and follow the angular lines of the frame and top line of the fuel tank and seat. The Swept system features full-length 2.5-inch heat shields finished off with slash cut ends with a slight radial twist. The removable baffles work to keep the sound levels within socially responsible levels.

But it’s the PowerPort that makes this exhaust system more than merely a cosmetic or acoustic upgrade. The PowerPort connects the front and rear headpipes to promote superior exhaust scavenging. The result is improved torque and overall power (much like you would expect to achieve from a performance 2-into-1 system) from the time-honored 2-into-2.

“The Fury’s engine is tuned more for around-town rideability rather than out-right maximum horsepower,” said McCool. “While this system significantly increases peak output, it also retains the bike’s train-like torque which gives the bike much of its personality.”

Cobra’s latest generation core technology has enabled these horsepower and torque gains, while lowering the overall sound levels to more-than-respectable levels. This means that Fury riders can get improved sound, performance and style in a neighbor friendly package.
